To kick start our ADA corrections at Vadnais Square, Interstate Companies had the pleasure of saw cutting, removing, and disposing of approximately 2,250 SF of the existing concrete sidewalk in prep for a fresh pour. Our crews checked and added base material as needed to ensure a level surface in preparing for new concrete to be installed.
In addition, we completed a concrete curb replacement while removing and replacing the B6-12 curb and gutter we also replaced 20 linear feet to meet ADA curb ramp requirements. We then poured 4,000 PSI air-entrained concrete, trowel leveled, and scored expansion joints to match the existing patterns and completing the concrete curbs with a traction finish. To complement the new concrete curbs, we repaired 2,800 square feet of asphalt along the curb and handicapped parking spaces. We made repairs as needed by milling and squaring off of the affected area, swept and prepped mill areas, and finished by installing 4″ of new asphalt and rolled to a smooth finish.
Finishing touches included a re-stripe of the property completing this ADA Compliance revamp.
