OUR WINTER PROCESS

At Interstate Companies, we have detailed processes in place managing all aspects of snow and ice management. From safety and liability analysis, operational plan and design, service execution, review, and metric reporting, Interstate is the leading choice for snow and ice management services in the Midwest.

STEP 1:

CONSULTATION & LIABILITY AND SAFE ANALYSIS

Winter safety is our top priority.  Liability and safety management through the winter season is crucial in protecting clients, employees, and pedestrians. Interstates snow and ice management process begins with consulting with our customers and completing a full safety and liability analysis of your property or campus. We outline all potential hazards, high-risk locations, hours of operation and any areas of concern. This information sets the stage for step 2 in our process.

STEP 2:

SITE EVALUATION AND SCOPE OF WORK OUTLINE

Our expert team works closely with our clients to develop a snow and ice management plan that meets the safety, service, and budgetary needs of their specific campus or property. Our job is to develop a scope of work that keeps employees and clients safe while being as efficient and financially responsible as possible. We work with you in an effort to create a perfect balance of service and safety.

STEP 3:

OPERATIONAL PLAN DESIGN

Our operations team members are experts at the sites they service and Interstate has invested in the latest snow and ice management specific equipment avaiable in the industry. We strategically assign crews and equipment to client job sites to ensure not only safety, but efficiency. Upon mapping & operational plan design, we coordinate with our crews and area managers to create an operational plan tailored specifically to each client’s needs. Minnesota is a state of extremes and your site will be staffed with the right personnel and equipment to handle any weather event.

STEP 4:

OPERATIONAL PLAN REVIEW & CLIENT TEMPUS TRAINING

After our operational plan is established & reviewed by our operations team and approved by our clients, we move to the next step in our client interactive service experience. Our clients receive IT training on our easy to use Tempus client management system that allows them direct access to service status, communication, and expense tracking, 24/7 in real time. Our new mobile app allows access to our system from anywhere. Check out more about our Tempus System here!

STEP 5:

AFTER EVENT FOLLOW-UP & REVIEW

The communication does not stop with our clients once the last snowflake hits the ground. Interstate is intentional and deliberate after each event to follow up and check in with our clients to ensure the  operational plan and service met expectations. We use after event follow ups as an opportunity to communicate with our clients about service performance. We take this information to make small adjustments along the way to make sure we exceed your safety and service expectations.

STEP 6:

MONTHLY SERVICE AND METRICS REPORT

Minnesota winters are long and can be very busy with snow and ice precipitation events. Interstate provides monthly service and metric reports detailing the total snow amount, number and type of events, and number of days our crews were at your site. In addition to being a great reminder to reflect on the month’s weather, more importantly for our customers, a financial check-in to remain budget-conscious. We know how important it is to spend time and money wisely, and we are proud our clients partner with us for snow & ice management services.
